Pond Maintenance
Cleaning, water testing and seasonal care for existing ponds and water features — including ones we did not build.
What does a maintenance visit involve?
It depends on the season. Spring is the big one: draining, cleaning out the debris that collected over winter, checking pumps and plumbing, and restarting the biology.
Through summer it is water quality, plant management and equipment checks. Autumn is leaf control and preparing for dormancy.
Why test the water?
Because green water is a symptom, not a cause. Testing shows what is actually happening — nutrient load, oxygen, the state of the biological filtration — so the fix addresses the cause rather than treating the colour.
This is the part most maintenance skips, and it is the part our background in wastewater and aquaculture is built on.
Do you maintain ponds you did not build?
Yes, and a good share of the work is exactly that — features built by someone else that have stopped behaving. The first visit is usually an assessment.
Recent maintenance work
Our background is water treatment.
Before ponds, our work was wastewater treatment, industrial aquaculture and aquariums. All three come down to keeping a closed body of water healthy, and that decides whether a pond is still clear in its third summer. So we plan the filtration, planting and circulation before we dig, and we test the water before we treat it.
“Mike is very professional, there were no surprises with timing or the budget. There has been great after sales service and everything is functioning perfectly now.”
